Everyone has the power to Reimagine their Reality and be Made New.

Real Impact

As a Los-Angeles County based 501(c)(3) operating out of Inglewood, California, our mission is to transform lives through innovative and evidence-informed services for justice-impacted individuals across every stage of their journey.

Through our Reimagining Reality program, we bring CBT-informed immersive VR learning experiences to youth, incarcerated individuals, and returning citizens, equipping each person with the mental tools they need to reimagine their reality and build a meaningful future. For those facing extended periods of incarceration, our program provides a sense of hope and purpose. We aspire to show people that growth is always possible and to give them the help they need to work toward a better future, regardless of their circumstances.

Because transformation does not end at release, sustained support is essential to continuing the process. As such, we believe that a sense of belonging and community is equally as important to a successful transition from incarceration as a place to live and a job. Our comprehensive re-entry services, which includes transportation at release, housing assistance, and employment support, are delivered by peers with lived experience, allowing for a simultaneous fostering of the authentic relationships and networks of support vital to successful reintegration.

Whether we are working with a young person, an incarcerated individual, or a returning citizen, we strive to meet every person where they are and walk alongside them as they shape their own path toward success.

We want to break the cycle of incarceration.

Many marginalized communities face significant barriers to safety and opportunity, including under-resourced schools, limited mental health support, and insufficient access to preventative and rehabilitative services. When young people grow up without adequate support systems, the path toward the justice system can become difficult to avoid. Once involved, individuals often encounter systems that, despite their intentions, are not always equipped to address the deeper cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs that drive behavior. Without targeted intervention, these unmet needs make successful reintegration into the community challenging, perpetuating a cycle that affects public safety and contributes to the high costs of incarceration across California:

$132,680 annually per imprisoned adult;

over $500,000 per youth;

$41,834 on healthcare per person.

Our Solution:

Made New Foundation combines immersive VR, content creation, and principles of cognitive behavioral therapy to transform how marginalized youth and incarcerated individuals process conflict.

Led by instructors with lived experience, participants are provided a safe space to “rehearse” real-life scenarios to build empathy, emotional awareness, and better decision-making while gaining greater exposure and fluency with emerging technology.

Our Reimagining Reality program is designed to break cycles of violence, disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline, and equip incarcerated individuals with the proper tools to lead productive and meaningful lives beyond prison.

Additionally, our re-entry services support individuals in overcoming the barriers of re-assimilating into society and preventing recidivism, based on the experiences of those who have dealt with the struggles first-hand.
